Dear Parents and Voters,

On behalf of the Recreation Commission, let me that you for your support last night.  The renovation of the basketball court passed by a large majority.

Aside from the Selectman, the only dissenting voice was an abutter concerned about past misbehavior.  In my explanation of the project, I mentioned that the trees would be removed for clear viewing from the road and all could keep an eye on the site.

From here, only volunteer site work can be done.  That would include trash clean up, old playground removal and tree work.  Many last night mentioned to me their interest in helping.  When we have an organized effort, I will send out an email.

By law,  only after the start of the new fiscal year (July 1)  can we enter in an agreement to purchase the materials.  It is hoped that the materials would arrive for a late July/ early August construction!

Thank you again!
Andy Karparis
Recreation Commission Chair

Attend and vote at Town Meeting!
The Plympton Recreation Commission has proposed the renovation of the Parsonage Road Basketball court.

Renovation would include:
1. Resurfacing.
2. Multi use Basketball and tennis court.
3. Fencing.
4. Parking.
5. Tree removal and site clean up.

Voters will have the opportunity to approve the renovation of the town owned basketball court in the center of town at Town Meeting. The project will be completed at cost with no labor expenses saving taxpayers thousands of dollars.  This multi-purpose renovation will include a retractable tennis net so both tennis and basketball can be played on a state of the art surface.  Please consider supporting this article!
